The Bigfoot Trail Alliance crew cleared 4.5 miles of trail from Lover’s Camp to Marble Valley, removing 56 logs—including a massive 46-inch cedar. Though snow blocked access to Wooley Creek, the team rerouted efforts to clear nearby trails, including Sky High Lakes and Little Marble Valley, ensuring safer access for hikers.
2024 CCC Collaborative
In 2024, the CCC Collaborative focused on the Clear Creek and Kelsey Trail areas, clearing several miles of trails. Support from various organizations facilitated this significant trail maintenance and scouting effort.
The CCC Collaborative needs your support
The CCC needs to raise an additional $3,000 within three weeks to support a group of 12 corpsmembers who will work on restoring the Bigfoot Trail in the Siskiyou Wilderness. Donations will cover their travel, meals, stipends, and supplies. Contributions over $150 will receive a Bigfoot Trail hat.
Russian Wilderness 2024
Tanya and Calder Bullwinkle co-led their first trip with the Bigfoot Trail Alliance, shifting plans to the Pacific Crest Trail due to fires. A team of 13, joined by Shelby Wiester, cleared over 80 logs and maintained five miles of trail.
Spring 2024
This spring, our trip leaders and volunteers cleared, treaded, and lopped nearly 15 miles of trails across the Shasta-Trinity, Klamath, and Six Rivers national forests. Detailed accounts include work on Wooley Creek, Packer Peak Trail, and Canyon Creek, totaling 15.5 miles.
Marble Valley Trip #3
For the third time in 2023 the Bigfoot Trail Alliance returned to Lover’s Camp to get our crew into upper Wooley Creek. While our target is one of the most remote trails in California, we are making steady progress in its rehabilitation.
