A big thank you to everyone who helped bring the Blue Creek Trail back to life this summer—and especially to our partners at Six Rivers National Forest and Siskiyou Mountain Club.
Siskiyou Mountain Club got the season started with an eight-day trip in June, working 2.9 miles of the East Fork Blue Creek/Forks of Blue route and contributing an impressive 1,246 hours of trail work.
BFTA crews then picked up the work and carried it north, completing 8.2 miles of trail work, removing 280 logs, and contributing 120 volunteer hours, along with many miles of lopping and tread work.
Together, we now have more than 10 miles of trail open and accessible from end to end.
This is what partnership looks like: organizations and volunteers building on one another’s work, supported by the Six Rivers National Forest, to reconnect a trail through a rugged corner of the Klamath Mountains.
Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!
