The approach to the wilderness boundary is along Canyon Creek Road. There is a lot of private property here, meaning beware of what is going on behind the fences…and the dogs as well. Once in the wilderness, the trail is breath-taking. Beware of the Stuarts Fork crossing in early season! Enjoy the high granite around Caribou Lake and the subtle beauty of Packer’s Peak. There is a lot of elevation gain and loss through here, as there is no easy way to traverse the Alps.
