A Few Words to Begin

This week is an invitation to learn, to work, to share meals, and to care for a landscape that, in return, shapes us.

Please complete this application together—student and parent/guardian side by side.

Event Structure & Leadership

>>AGENDA<<

This trip will be guided by a team of experienced adult leaders:

  • 2 leaders from Covelo, Jessie Jones and Jessi Alvarado
  • 2 leader from Bigfoot Trail Alliance, Louis Hoiland and Steve Salzman

Together, we will create a safe, supportive, and meaningful experience rooted in stewardship and shared responsibility.

Expectations

We ask each participant to arrive ready—not just with gear, but with intention.

Youth participants are expected to:

  • Demonstrate mature and responsible behavior
  • Work collaboratively and support one another
  • Follow all safety instructions and training
  • Use provided personal protective equipment
  • Care for tools, camp, and the surrounding landscape

Gear & Preparation

Participants must bring:

  • Sturdy shoes or boots
  • Work gloves
  • Clothing for both trail work and camp life
  • Water bottle and personal items

Additional Notes

  • All meals will be provided
  • A $300 stipend is included for participants
  • Carpool coordination is available
  • Group camping gear can be provided if needed
  • We will have several emergency GPS devices for communication.
