Trail Creek Campground to Idlewild Campground

This is a short but sweet section of the trail. Climbing steeply from Trail Creek Campground, the route breifly overlaps with the Pacific Crest Trail before swinging toward a series of lakes in the southern part of the Wilderness. The trail then drops into Russian Creek where rare conifers like Engelmann spruce and subalpine fir can be found. This region holds one of the most diverse temperate coniferous forests on Earth–home to the famed Miracle Mile.
