Trail Stewardship Weekend — Marble Mountains

May 23-25th, 2026

This is an invitation to join us—tools in hand, boots on the tread—to care for pathways that have carried stories long before us.

We’ll basecamp near Orleans, California in the heart of the Marble Mountains, focusing our efforts on:

  • Haypress Meadow Trail
  • Let’er Buck Trail

Camp will be established at the Stanshaw Trailhead.

🛠️ What to Expect

This is a hands-on trail stewardship experience—part learning, part labor, part community.

  • Clear and restore trail corridors
  • Learn trail maintenance techniques
  • Work alongside experienced crew leaders
  • Build connections with others who care deeply about these landscapes

Whether you’re new to trail work or building experience, this is a chance to deepen your skills and your relationship with the land.

📅 Schedule

  • May 23 (Saturday)
Meet at the trailhead around noon → afternoon work session → camp overnight
  • May 24 (Sunday)
Full day of trail work → camp overnight
  • May 25 (Monday)
Break camp → depart in the morning

🍲 Food & Support

  • All meals will be provided (with care and flavor by Cathy Leavens)
  • A $300 stipend is offered for the weekend
  • We will help coordinate transportation to the trailhead
