The Bigfoot Trail Alliance is working with the Six Rivers National Forest’s Bryson Code and Janet Boomgarden to put a Master Challenge Cost Share Agreement in place. This document, with the Six Rivers National Forest as the lead forest, will recognize the trail and allow us to partner with the Klamath, Shasta-Trinity, and Mendocino to get trail work done.
An agreement like this is beneficial in numerous ways including:
- To facilitate the development, improvement, management and operation of the Bigfoot Trail as a single long-distance trail, consistent with and the Forest Service Land and Resource Management Plans.
- To facilitate the coordination, development and distribution of informational, educational and interpretive material related to the Bigfoot Trail.
- To encourage and manage volunteer involvement in the development, management and operation of the Bigfoot Trail.
- To recognize the BFTA as the major partner and the private non-profit lead organization in the development, management, and operation of the Bigfoot Trail.
The bottom line: We are excited to be working with Forest Service partners to get trail work planned and executed!
